To use click-to-call functionality in Insureio, you'll need web/VoIP-based software. Depending on your software, you may need to select it as the default program your computer uses to place calls. You may also have to approve click-to-call in your browser settings. We'll go over all of these below.

3CX users, please click here - there's an additional script you'll need to install.

To set your web/VoIP-based software as a program default: Some VoIP programs, including 3CX, will automatically register as the handler for the tel protocol when you install them. If you're using 3CX or know your computer is already using your VoIP software as a default, you can skip to the next section.
  1. Decide which program you want to use as your click-to-call default.
  2. Open Windows Control Panel and click "Default Programs."Click-to-Call Installation: Default Programs
  3. Select "Associate a file type or protocol with a program."Click-to-Call Installation: Associate a File Type
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the list in the protocols section, find TEL, select it, and click "Change program."Click-to-Call Installation: Select TEL protocol
  5. Select your web/VoIP-based program from the list provided. We use 3CX in our office, so that's what you see in the example below:Click-to-Call Installation: Select VoIP Program
  6. Close the "Set Associations" window.

  To use click-to-call within Insureio:
  1. Click on any blue telephone number link within Insureio. To test without calling a client, go to your profile and click the phone icon next to your contact phone number. Click-to-Call Installation: Contact phone tel link
  2. Your web browser may give you a pop-up, asking for permission to make a call. In the pop-up, you may also have the option to tell your browser not to ask for permission every time you click a telephone link. If you plan on using click-to-call frequently, check this box. Then click "Yes" or "Launch" to proceed.Click-to-Call Installation: External Protocol Request Pop-Up
  3. Your web/VoIP-based software will now place the call.
 
  3CX Users: To use 3CX for click-to-call within Insureio:
  1. Click here to download the 3CX batch script. Your computer may deliver a warning message that this is an uncommon file type. Click the dropdown arrow on the right of the file download notification in your browser's bottom bar. Select "Keep" to complete the download.
  2. Click on the "register_tel.bat" file. Click "Run." Click-to-Call Installation 1
  3. Your computer will ask, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?" Click "Yes." The script will install and you will be able to place calls from within Insureio.
  4. Test your installation by clicking any blue telephone number link within Insureio. To test without calling a client, go to your profile and click the phone icon next to your contact phone number. Click-to-Call Installation: Contact phone tel link
  5. Your web browser may give you a pop-up, asking for permission to make a call. In the pop-up, you may also have the option to tell your browser not to ask for permission every time you click a telephone link.   6. Your web/VoIP-based software will now place the call.
